These pictures are a good example of the type of work that I will be taking inspiration from. The images that I have used have been pulled from the internet so that I can get a better understanding of the topic of distortion photography. In distortion photography, natural distortion can occur within the environment, for example, the picture at the top right-hand corner of the group of pictures is a natural occurring distortion using reflection. I have not used all the techniques shown in the pictures above but they helped open my mind to different ideas.
Man Ray
Man Ray (born Emmanuel Radnitzky, August 27, 1890 – November 18, 1976) was an American visual artist who spent most of his career in France. He was a significant contributor to the Dada and Surrealist movements, although his ties to each were informal. He produced major works in a variety of media but considered himself a painter above all. He was best known for his photography, and he was a renowned fashion and portrait photographer. Man Ray is also noted for his work with photograms, which he called "rayographs" in reference to himself.

This diagram shows the variety of tools to use within distortion photography. For example, the time of day can affect the mood of a picture, so if you try to use Photoshop to distort a picture the lighting from the sky could give it a different perspective on a picture.
